About Kate

I coach leaders who share my passion for good government. My clients are hard-working and ambitious.  These days, I often hear from people who are both excited about opportunities to lead and serve better, but also worn down by recent crises and daunted by the magnitude of challenges ahead.

As a proud former public servant, these challenges resonate with me.  Among other government roles, I worked at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a "start-up" federal government agency full of leaders with big ambitions and a spirit of adventure.  I directly supported the Chief Operating Officer as a Senior Advisor and the executive for Regulations as a Chief of Staff.  I tackled a broad range of leadership challenges, from facilitating management team alignment to executing enterprise-wide change management initiatives.  I also supervised a diverse team of professionals.

As a consultant and coach, I am working with executives and supervisors in multiple federal government agencies, each with distinct missions and cultures.  I am also working with leaders outside of government who advocate for effective government policies or practices.  My clients include leaders at socially conscious professional services firms and at nonprofit organizations.

On the day I announced the launch of Kate Muñoz Consulting to my friends and family, I articulated my belief that organizations are amazing, a symbol of human progress, and our only means to a greater future.  And yet, organizations impose incredible stress on people, they are fragile, and many leaders lack the space and support to learn and grow the way they need to.  I am a coach because I want to show up for others at their most challenged professional moments and support the success of my clients' organizations.
